Old Hickory resident Jacqueline Rogers has entered Metro’s Holiday Lights Competition each year since 2009, and even been named a regional finalist twice.

2012 was her year to finally get the Countywide Overall Winner award. Her home at 1800 Turner Street is the first residence in Old Hickory to ever win the top honor in the contest.

Mayor Karl Dean presented the award and congratulated Mrs. Rogers and her family during a live announcement on NewsChannel 5.

This is the 25th year of the contest, an annual competition is open to all residents of Davidson County, and sponsored by Mayor Dean, Metro Public Works, MBEC, Nashville Electric Service and NewsChannel 5.

The overall winner is selected from five regional finalists. The other four finalists are:

  • Steven, Theressa, Gracie & Hope Capley, 702 Ronnie Road in Madison
  • David & Kevin Young, 5217 Regent Drive
  • Ray Vitelli & Bear Hancock, 6209 Paddington Way, Antioch
  • David Walker, 7516 Rolling River Pkwy, Bellevue

A total of 30 entries were received this year. In addition to the five regional winners, 23 Metro Councilman district winners were also previously selected.
