The Women’s Day committee of Bethesda Original Church of God hosted the 12 Tables in mid March.
Invited guest were served a delicious meal of chicken, green beans, mac n cheese…including great cakes for dessert and tea.
The tables were beautifully decorated to represent each month of the year. As the hosts of each table chose a theme to decorate around, the guests at the tables were supplied with a table setting that matched the table’s chosen theme. In some cases, the host prepared a special meal for their guests, adding a little personal touch to the experience. As November’s table was a “Thanksgiving Feast” where Katrese Jones hosted the table, serving her guest their specially prepared meal of three meats and other complimentary vegetables, ending the meal with a variety of flavored cheese cake.
The guest of Janice Johnson were surrounded by a beautiful “Winter Wonderland” with a theme that was set in a baby blue and white, giving the feeling of a wintery, iced wonderland in January.
Mary Jo hosted September with the theme, “Titans,” as the table was adourned with Titans paraphernalia and accents in shades of Titan’s team blue.
Matral Smith, host of February’s table, chose a theme of “Love and Black History” because of her birthday and the love of February and the color red. She chose to share her table with three sisters, a grandson and family members.
Other tables that represented their birthday months were August where Lolita used the theme “A Day at the Beach” that was a beautiful representation of a warm sunny day, complete with sand and live fish in fish bowls. Deborah hosted December’s table, “Christmas,” and Lillian who hosted March also represented her birthday.
Angela also decorated for the summer, July with a theme, “Summer Vacation.”
Verna and Jeanette chose April with a theme that was dressed with colorful umbrellas and beautiful flowers themed, “April Showers.”
Toya decorated in pink with floral flowers for October’s table and pink roses were very beautiful for May that was hosted by Diamond, Tammy and Maxine. Pastels and pink candles decorated June’s table, hosted by Herberlene.
Following dinner, the guests received gifts through many games of BINGO.
Coordinator, Judy Shelton wanted “everyone to enjoy their day, their hosts and receive a gift to show appreciation for their sharing in this day.”
No one left without receiving a prize. As the game ended, all who had not won a prize were asked to come up and choose from a plethora of gifts that included, jewelry, trinkets, candles, soaps, and much more!
