The Nashville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. held the chapter’s 87th Founders’ Day Celebration on April 26 (actual date of founding was April 24, 1926) at the fraternity house on Tigerbelle Drive. As a part of this event, two members were inducted in the 2013 class of the A. A. Birch Golden Heritage Society. They are Richard Giles and Robert Williams.
The society was the brainchild of deceased brother Judge A. A. Birch in 2011. It recognizes brothers with 50 years of membership in the fraternity. Unfortunately Judge Birch passed away before the initial ceremony where he was to be inducted.
The initial 2011 class included: James Bass, Ira Baxter Sr., Roscoe Beaty, Judge A. A. Birch, Jr., (deceased), Dr. Bernard Crowell, James Dunn, Dr. Henry Foster, Robert Grant, John Green, Edward Graves, William Haston, Sanford Harper, Dr. George Hull, Jr. (deceased), Dr. Nebraska Mays, Leonard Morton, Sr., Tobey Pursley (deceased), Andrew Rucker, Sr., Willie Stevens, Charles Story, and Homer Wheaton.
