The Nashville Shakespeare Festival and Gaylord Opryland Resort are teaming up to offer a Memorial Day experience like none other.

For two nights only on May 25 and 26, the Nashville Shakespeare Festival is bringing its critically acclaimed and hugely popular The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) to the Gaylord Opryland Special Events Lawn.

“One of the best ways to learn about Shakespeare is to see it performed live, and you will find yourself laughing hysterically as three actors summarize and skewer all of Shakespeare’s 37 plays,” said Denice Hicks, artistic director for the production. “To top it off, there is not a more beautiful place for a weekend getaway than Gaylord Opryland with its nine acres of lavish indoor gardens and waterfalls under glass.”

The 90-minute performance will take audiences on a wild ride full of witty banter, goofy pratfalls and plenty of irreverent fun in an interactive show that is sure to show you the bard’s timeless works in a different light. Written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield, the play will star the acclaimed cast from 2009, Brad Brown, Ben Reed and Christopher Campbell.

General admission tickets are available for $10 at www.NashvilleShakes.org or at the door.

One and two night overnight packages are available from $169 per room based on double occupancy and include admission for two to the show at 7:30 pm and a Royal Dance with the cast after the show. Pre-show entertainment gets underway at 6:30 pm with food and drink available on the lawn.

Costume design is by June Kingsbury, who has been costuming area theatre productions since 1998. Set design is by MadeFirst.

Hicks noted that the mission of the Nashville Shakespeare Festival is to educate and to entertain the mid-South region through professional Shakespearean performances year round.
