Metro Action Commission announces delay of assistance

Metropolitan Action Commission customers seeking assistance with utility (electricity or natural gas) payments will not be eligible until October 1. If more information is required, call Customer Care at 615- 862-8811.

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for 2013-14 will begin October 1 and continue through September 30.

• Customers that have been helped between July 1, 2012 and June 30, 2013 will not be eligible until October 1, 2013, instead of July 1, 2013. (Example, if a customer received help in August 2012 or January 2013, you will be eligible beginning October 1, 2013 through Sept 30, 2014)

• Customers that have not been helped by the agency since July 1, 2012 would be able to apply during a special transition period beginning July 1, 2013 until September 30, 2013.

All other assistance programs that began on July 1, 2013, are listed below:
• The Adult Education/GED Program
• Property Tax Assistance for seniors,
• Prescriptions costs and
• Rent or mortgage payments
• Homeless Program — rent and utility deposits (electricity, water, natural gas)
