“Fall into Fitness”

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)  There are so many reasons to get “fit”…weight loss, to combat diabetes, to destress, physical appearance and many other health related issues.   The Health and Wellness ministry at Clark Memorial UMC is offering a six-week fitness pilot program to encourage members, friends and neighbors to “Fall into Fitness.”

This pilot program is designed to offer a jumpstart to a fitness program and encourage participants to “get moving” in a positive direction in order to take better care of their bodies or to maintain a regiment that is already in place with an opportunity to do something different and fellowship with others as an encouragement.

Psalm 139:14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

On Mondays, beginning September 9th, a special aerobics class will be held at 6:00 p.m. 

“We want you to come to class wearing comfortable workout clothes that make you feel good and be prepared to move,” said Wanda Clay aerobics leader.  “I am especially excited to lead this class because it is a great incentive for me to not only lose weight, but to be an inspiration to others.  At the end of the six weeks, there should be noticeable improvements in our health.  But, with a long way to go, I wish for the class to give us a desire to continue on our healthy journey.”

On Tuesdays Janet Caldwell will lead a yoga class.  Participants are asked to wear comfortable clothing, bring an exercise mat and a towel.  Release the pressures of the world, relax, learn to breathe and be aware.  “I look forward to teaching what I have learned as yoga has been a great asset to my lifestyle,” said Janet.

Some people already live a healthy lifestyle and others are in need of developing a healthier way of living.  Everyone is invited to attend. Invest 1 hour on Monday for your health and 1 hour on Tuesday for relief of mental stress.
