Council Lady Erica Gilmore is pleased to announce the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency’s intent to use HUD funds and a HUD insured loan to build new, affordable housing at 933 Jefferson Street.
MDHA intends to focus their resources, as far as possible, in North Nashville in 2014.
“This is a wonderful addition to the excitement and development that is already occurring on Jefferson Street,” said Council Lady Gilmore. To this end, MDHA has a sales contract with the owners of 933 Jefferson Street, and has deposited HUD funded monies in escrow with them for its purchase. MDHA’s intent is to build new, affordable housing as required by the use restrictions of these Federal funds.
“The community is looking forward to the completion of this exciting new venture,” continued Council Lady Gilmore.
MDHA must complete the required HUD due diligence process, including an ongoing environmental review of the site, before construction can commence.
