Walking in the darkness of pride

In Jesus’ training of the 12 disciples, the disciples were always confused not getting a clear understanding of Jesus’ true purpose. “They asked him about the parable,” Mark 4:10-34.

Jesus constantly explained things to His disciples, but they did not understand until after they received the Holy Spirit. “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you,” John 14:26.

The sorrows and difficulties in the lives of others will be absolutely confusing until God reveals the same shortcomings in our lives which can only be done when Jesus gets us along. Just as Jesus will find time for us, we must find time for Him.

We can only be used by God after we allow Him to show us the deep hidden areas of our own character. Most Christians are ignorant about themselves, not recognizing the envy, laziness, or pride within us.

The greatest curse in our Spiritual life is pride. When there is pride or conceit, we cannot be taught spiritually. Heartbreak and disappointment will embarrass and wound our intellectual pride.

Many things will be shown to us, often without effect. But when we find time for God, He will allow the Holy Spirit to grant to us the holiness of Jesus Christ and make things clear.
