TSU has big sports weekend

by PRIDE Newsdesk

The weekend of April 10-12 at Tennessee State University is going to be a fun one for fans of football and track and field. The track team will conduct the Boston/Moon at 9 am on April 11. The Legends Game will be at 1 pm on Hale Stadium. The Blue and White Game will be at 3 pm—according to the TSU Sports Information Department.

The annual Boston-Moon Classic begins at 9 am, Saturday, Apr 11. This is primarily a high school/college meet. Unattached athletes are also welcome. The event will be at TSU, Edward S. Temple Track. Distance: one mile, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Shot Put.

Legends Weekend 6 runs April 10-12. The TSU Football Alumni Chapter is excited about this year’s Alvin ‘Cat’ Coleman Legends Weekend 6 held in conjunction with the third annual Big Blue Coming Home Weekend scheduled for April 10-12. Players from 1950–2010 are invited to participate in a game of flag football preceding the Blue and White scrimmage, to put on their game face and show that ole Tiger spirit.

A roster of 20 players will make up the Legends teams. Don’t miss your opportunity to root from the sideline. They look forward to all of their Tigers coming back to be a part of this exciting weekend. If you have questions or comments, contact Jerrold McRae, Sr., president, TSUAA Football Alumni Chapter, at: or 615-491-2969.

And the festivities hit high gear at 3 pm as the annual Blue & White Spring Football Game kicks off at 3 pm on Saturday, April 11.
