Most Christians view the church as a secular business, and it should be operated as such. It’s a sad thing for me to hear: “This is how I do it on my job.” The church is not a building of brick and mortar. The church is the Body of Jesus Christ, whose main business is creating relationships and evangelizing (transforming people’s lives) with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Most churches leave the evangelizing to the pastor. If the church body is not into relationships (the love of God’s people) and ministering God’s Word to convert sinners from darkness to the Light of Christ, that church Body is not into ‘kingdom building.’ That church body is not operating in the will of God. To my beloved readers, know that Christ is on His way back to claim His bride, the church. Be ready.
“They found Him in the Temple, and He said to them, did you not know that I must be about my Father’s business?” Luke 2:46-69. This scripture is directed to all who consider themselves children of God. This is a constant challenge that we should be about our Father’s business and learn to live every moment of our lives in our Father’s house. The life of Jesus Christ, the way He worked and lived among people while here on earth, was a vital and simple life. God expects the life of Jesus to work and live within His children.
Can you identify yourself with these questions? 1) Do I look at my life as being in my Father’s house? 2) Does the reality of God and His order abide in me moment by moment? 3) Do I pray only when things have gone wrong, or when there is some disturbance in my life? 4) Is the grace of Jesus’ ministering life being worked out through you in my home, my business, and in my circle of friends? 5) Am I a holy, innocent child of God as a result of my identification with Jesus as my Lord and Savior? 6) Am I so closely identified with the Lord’s life that I am simply a child of God, continually talking to Him and realizing that everything comes from His hands?
Some of us have not yet even begun to learn that we must be about our Father’s business no matter of age. We must learn to live in Holy fellowship, staying in perfect oneness with Jesus Christ, and allowing God to have His way with us. There’s no time like the present to serve God. A life without God can produce a bitter, lonely, and hopeless old age. A life centered on God is fulfilling. It makes the ‘days of trouble’ when disabilities sickness and handicaps become barriers to an enjoyable and satisfying life, because of the hope and promise of eternal life. Let us stop wasting time on meaningless activities that become bad habits for others and ourselves who are watching us.
