Neighborhood Health celebrated the opening of Neighborhood Health at Inglewood on Monday, October 19. Neighborhood Health celebrated the opening of Neighborhood Health at Inglewood on Monday, October 19. The clinic, located at 3904 Gallatin Pike, hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by a family festival including refreshments, drawings, and tours.
“Neighborhood Health provides a full range of medical care for infants through the elderly. This includes lab tests and prescriptions,” said Mary Bufwack, CEO of Neighborhood Health. “We serve those with insurance and those without are provided care at a discount. In addition, counseling services for all types of family and personal issues are available.”
Inglewood, four miles from Madison and five miles from east Nashville, is a medically underserved area of Nashville in which nearly 40% of the residents are low-income; about 7,000 do not have access to affordable primary healthcare. Twenty percent of the children live in households under the poverty line.
Neighborhood Health at Inglewood is the 12th middle Tennessee clinic for the non-profit network of neighborhood health centers. Medical services are available to both insured and un-insured patients.
Neighborhood Health will work with the seven schools in 37216 to be sure that the children and their families receive the care that they need.
Hours are 8 am-5 pm Monday through Friday; walk-in visits are welcome.
Neighborhood Health, formerly United Neighborhood Health Services, Inc., is a private non-profit network of neighborhood health centers that have served Nashville for nearly 40 years.
Through its 10 Nashville neighborhood clinics, the Downtown Homeless Clinic, two mobile health units, and a clinic in Hartsville, Tennessee, Neighborhood Health annually serves approximately 32,000 medically underserved people of all ages; 17,000 have no health insurance.
