NBIC names LeShane Greenhill new Entrepreneur In Residence

The Nashville Business Incubation Center (NBIC), which offers management and assistance to women, minority and veteran owned businesses, is pleased to announced LeShane Greenhill as its new Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR), a role that will expand sales, technology and entrepreneurial expertise to members of the organization. NBIC’s mission is to cultivate the growth and development of minority, women and veteran owned businesses through one-on-one support, mentoring, programs and classes.

“Critical to our success, and the success of our region, is the development of minority, women and veteran owned businesses and leaders, who want to evolve business in the middle Tennessee community,” said Angela Crane-Jones, Executive Director of NBIC. “Having LeShane join our team, allows NBIC the opportunity to remove barriers such as the digital divide in the urban / minority community and expand our services in an environment we carefully craft, where entrepreneurship is encouraged and businesses can grow.”

Greenhill will engage with all NBIC members and help create a learning environment that inspires and prepares current and future entrepreneurs along with technology that can turn knowledge into action. This appointment is initially effective for a period of one year, with the intent to renew based on response from clients and financial support from sponsors.

“This opportunity aligns my passion for small businesses and technology,” said Greenhill. “I look forward to working along with Angela, and her team, in diverse ways that create growth and tech enablement platforms for NBIC member companies.”

Greenhill is CEO and Co-founder of Sagents and Founder of SalesCocktail.com. He is a former Google Entrepreneur and EIR for CODE2040, where he worked to create more access and opportunities for African Americans and Hispanics in the innovation economy. He serves, on numerous non-profit boards including: Girl Scouts of Middle TN, Nashville Chamber Leadership Connect, Belmont University Business School Ethics Advisory Board, along with Alignment Nashville Tech Team.

“We are pleased to have the support, and also announce, a multi-year donation from one of our sustaining sponsors, Frost Brown Todd, LLC who is committed to this residency program and the stability it will add to our program for clients. In addition to their support in helping women, minority and veteran owned companies who are committed to creating five or more jobs,” said Crane-Jones. A $50,000 donation, the second installment of a three-year commitment, was recently received from Frost Brown Todd.

“Supporting NBIC and this innovative residency program allows our firm an opportunity to align with small business leaders, support economic growth in Music City and increase our footprint within the community,” said Attny. Montgomery, Managing Member of Frost Brown Todd, LLC. “It is because of this organization’s commitment to the supporting of the underserved or minority, women and veteran firms scale increases capacity, ‘from acorn to mighty oak’ that allows us to be engaged now and in the future.”

NBIC is also adding additional programing that will be led by Greenhill who has a unique perspective on building small business’ proficiency in sales, automation and use of technology. This forethought, allows NBIC to shape a landscape that increases opportunity for clients and strengthening graduation rates from the program. Having graduated 127 companies since inception, 13 of which occured in the last five years, will accelerate client success with these additional services and expertise of its new EIR.
