Overcoming sickness and disease

by PRIDE Newsdesk

“And they overcome by the blood of the lamb, and by the word of their testimony and they loved not their lives to the death,” Revelation 12:10. We overcome because Jesus shed His blood for us. He redeemed us; He rescued us; He delivered us from sickness and disease. He recovered, by the payment of His blood, healing and health for our physical bodies.

Jesus bore our sicknesses and pains in His own body on the tree (1Peter 2:24). He bore our sickness in His body, so we would not have to bear sickness in our bodies. He carried our sorrows and pains. He was wounded for our transgressions (our guilt and weaknesses). He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him and with His stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:4-5).

Jesus was whipped so that we could be healed and made whole. God’s plan of redemption for man is complete and perfect. He has forgiven our debts. All our debts have been erased by Jesus. They were paid for in full by His blood. The power of Jesus’ blood activates His healing in our lives.

We overcome sickness and disease by the word of our testimony. The words that we speak over our lives are powerful. “Death and life is in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof,” Proverbs 18:21. God’s word is life and health to our flesh. Do not forget, God’s word is like medicine. Speak the word often and speak the word on a regular basis—and believe what you say.

“For whoever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith,” 1 John 5:4. Healing is already available to us. So receive what Jesus has died to obtain for you.
