“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Fathers House are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you,” John 14:1-2.

In today’s Bible reading, Jesus spoke many comforting words to His disciples just before He suffered and gave His life for mankind. We were born into this world as sinners, but Jesus shed His blood, died, rose again, and ascended back to Heaven, making salvation free for all at any given time. He moved by the power of God because He loved us. His omnipotent, omniscience, and omnipresence brought about His obedience and oneness with the Father. He said that those who love Him will keep His words and that He and His Father would make their abode with them.

As Christians, we are here to help and encourage one another. Let us reach out to others in their trials and pray for them. Jesus wants to give us a heart of love that is continually reflecting our relationship with Him as Savior as we glorify Him in this life and the next to come. We are not promised an easy life here. Satan will surely try to turn us aside, but Jesus is much more powerful than Satan. He will never leave nor forsake those who put their trust and pledge their allegiance to Him.

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No man can come unto the Father but by Him. He promised to send the Comforter to those who obey Him. This is the helper, paraclete, and the Holy Spirit at work within us, who helps Christ’s followers to remember His words. Jesus will not leave us comfortless. He will come to us through the Holy Spirit. He gives us His peace. He promised that if we ask anything in His name, He would do it. He is preparing “mansions” (dwelling places) in Heaven. No suffering is known there: no tears, partings, disappointments, sin, or death. Heaven is a place of eternal peace, joy, love, and beauty. Best of all, Jesus is there waiting to receive us unto Himself. He will welcome home all those who have kept His commandments, and you will know there’s no place like home.
