Sin causes a lot of misery and confusion in our world today. Sin can cause us to lose the identity we have in Christ Jesus. Sin is at the root cause of all evil that exists from the time of creation of man to this present day. It has destroyed many relationships and is still destroying lives today. Our fleshly desires are the dominant cause of sin. The cure for sin is love, Godly love. God demonstrated His love for us. While we were sinners Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).
Sin is anything that is not good and goes against God’s standards. Some examples of sin include: gossip, cheating, pride, stealing, lying, envy and jealousy. When we sin we are rebelling against God’s way of living. Sin creates havoc in the lives of all of us on earth.
Sin also separates us from fellowshipping with God.
The first mention of sin in the Bible caused a war in heaven. The Archangel Lucifer became prideful and wanted the honor and glory that belonged only to God. He wanted to rule the universe. Lucifer was cast out of heaven into the earth (Ezekiel 28:11-19, Revelation 12:7-18 and Isaiah 14:12-17). These references can give you information about Lucifer and his followers who were cast out of heaven.
Lucifer also known as Satan was behind the first sin of mankind in the Garden of Eden. He persuaded Eve to eat the fruit of the tree that God said not to eat of (Genesis 3). As descendants of Adam and Eve, we inherited sin from them (Romans 5:12). Through Adam, sin death was passed down to all men. But God gave us the gift of eternal life through His Son Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23).
God’s love is our remedy for sin. God loved us so much, that He sent His only begotten Son into the world, that whosoever believes in Him (Jesus) shall not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). God sent His Son into the world to be a substitute for our sins. God loves us very much and does not want us to experience the consequences that sin brings. Jesus died on the cross and took the punishment that we deserved. Yes, Gods’ love for mankind eradicated sin forever. Your sins and my sins are all forgiven. We are free not to live after fleshly or worldly gain, but to live our lives after the spirit of the life that’s in Christ Jesus.
God has erased and forgiven the sins of everyone in this world. He has forgiven all sin, including: past sins, present sins and future sins. He did it once and for all mankind. Jesus was sinless. He lived a perfect life. He sacrificed His life so that man could be made the righteousness of God. He who knew no sin became sin so that we could be in right standing with God through Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21). There is no work, nothing, that we can do to earn our righteousness. Jesus paid it all. He paid it with His life.
