“Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good: for His mercy endures forever,” Psalm 106:1.

The story is told of a man that had just turned 80 years old. One morning the man woke up from his sleep and said to his wife, I’m going back to school. His wife said to him: “You’re doing what?” He replied: “I’m going back to school.” His wife said to him: “Don’t you think you’re too old to go back to school.” But the man kept saying: “I’m going back to school!” His children even said to him: “You’re too old to go back to school.” The man continued responding: “I’m going back to school.”

One day he visited the college and applied for classes. The student counselor said to him: “This is a large university, and your classes will be spread across the campus. Are you able to do this each day?” The man said “Yes.”

Four years passed and the man that said to his wife, children and student councilor I’m going back to school is now walking across the stage at his college commencement with his college degree in his hand. This man had a greater view of his life. In spite of his age and what others were saying, he would not allow it to stop him from the viewpoint that would take him to greater things.

In today’s text Moses is singing songs of thankfulness to God for delivering the children of Israel from Egyptian bondage.

“Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord? Who can show forth all his praise? Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that do righteousness at all times. Remember me, O Lord, with the favor that thou bear unto your people: visit me with your salvation. That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.” In the mist of walking through a hot and barren land, Moses had a view of the will of God that would take him and the children of God into greater things.

Look at the mighty display of God’s power at the Red Sea, and how God defeated the enemy on the behalf of the Israelites. It is no wonder the Israelites praised God in song!

God rebuked the Red Sea, and it was dried up. He led them through the depths of the wilderness and saved them from the hand of him that hated—and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. “We believe your words. This is why we will praise you.” God did it, and now we will continue in the view that He has set before us that will lead us to greater.

We are moving into a larger place where God has promised us. Don’t let anyone stop you from seeing what God has already promised you. What do you see that says ‘greater’? What is your viewpoint or point of view? How do you see your life? If you believe it, you can achieve it. Stay thankful, and keep a greater view!
