‘Cancer: My Journey in Time’ (part 58)
“What you sayin’?’ Get ya mind right, Cuz”

Rev. Enoch Fuzz

Rev. Enoch Fuzz, pastor of the Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, will go into the pulpit again to deliver the message on Sunday, September 5. While battling stage four lung cancer for over a year, he has only preached ‘the word’ on occasions such as Mother’s Day or a few similar special days. Because of his different levels of wellness, preaching has not been consistent, just on occasion. Nevertheless, the congregation and friends look forward to his preaching Sunday’s sermon, ‘God is With Us.’

It is important that people search into their own lives regarding one’s self. People may tell Rev. Fuzz that he is in God’s favor. That should be considered an ‘out loud prayer’ and accepted as such. While accepting those and all other words of acknowledgment and encouragement, it is gratifying to hear what Rev. Fuzz is saying about his own condition.

“I’m starting to accept that I’m not going to be 100%, but 85% is my new 100%,” Fuzz said. As he considers 85% being his personal 100%, he said: “I’ll learn to do more with less.” Rev. Fuzz is making reference to being 85% of who he had been prior to his journey with cancer. While we may not have heard it as frequently, Fuzz often said: “Get ya mind right, Cuz.” Without a doubt, Rev. Fuzz will continue living at his highest capacity as he “learns to do more with less.”

What are you saying? You should do your best just as Fuzz does. When you do the best you can with what you have under any and all circumstances, that is 100%. God is concerned with your best. That is notably a statement of hope and forward movement on life’s continuum.

What are you saying about your life? What percentage are you operating in? What’s your situation? Are you working and learning to do you best with what you have? While not yet hearing his sermon, “God is With Us,” that applies to all of this. Whatever you’re thinking, ‘Get your mind right, Cuz.’ God is with us 100%.

Continue to pray for the healing of Rev. Fuzz. His latest sermon will be preached on Sunday, September 5, at 11 am at the Corinthian MBC, 819 33rd Ave. N. and also live-streamed on YouTube at CorinthianBaptist ChurchNashville (two words).   He continues to pray for each of you and also the world. Visit his Facebook site where you will find him sharing his concern, praise in pictures, testimony and song. As we continue to follow God’s guide, keep following his weekly journey, ‘Cancer: My Journey in Time.’ (A special note of thanks for continuing to read and share this journey.) May it be a blessing in your life.
