Do you really want to be blessed?

Romans 8: 31-38
Matthew 6: 33

The blessings of God don’t just come around because you’re hanging around. You must get up and go after it. There are instructions you must follow to have the blessings of God manifested in your life.

One must know the timing of God that will release the blessings of God on the earth. 2022 is known as the test of time. God is seeing who can endure this year without giving up. Everything that you have been assigned to do must be accomplished this year in order for you to be victorious in 2022.

The epistles of Paul are great character stories, because they are full of spiritual insight that can become evident in the life of the believer for spiritual discernment.

If you ever want to know how to live for Jesus Christ, just study the life of Paul. In chapter eight Paul divides people into two categories:

1) Those who let themselves be controlled by their sinful nature—“carnally minded” flesh walkers that are bound by the law of sin and death. “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh,” Romans 8:5a. “For to be carnally minded [worldly] is death,” Romans 8:6a. “The carnal mind is enmity [deep-seated] established within itself, it sits in its own chair on it’s own believes, unfriendly, full of hostility against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be,” Romans 8:7. “…so then they that are in the flesh [deep-seated in there on beliefs] cannot please God. For there is nothing an unsaved person can do to please God or for God,” Romans 8:8.

People who are not indwelling the Spirit of God are moving in the opposite direction. This is your ‘flesh nature’ at work in you to keep you out of God’s perfect will, because your flesh man is in battle with your spirit man.

2) Those who follow after the Holy Spirit. “There is therefore now no condemnation [punishment] to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit. For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me, you, and us free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weakened through the flesh [man], God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: Jesus had to give up in order for us to go up. That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit,” Romans 8: 1-5.

Look at the spirit and how it operates. “…but they that are after the spirit the things of the spirit. Everyone who is ruled by the Holy Spirit thinks about spiritual things,” Romans 8:5b. “…to be spiritually minded is life and peace,” Romans 8:6b. “You are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if so be that the spirit of God dwell in you,” Romans 8:9a. “If Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; [note: you are dead to sin but alive spiritually.] But the Spirit is life because of righteousness,” Romans 8:10.

To sum this word up: As we walk in the spirit and do the things of the spirit, we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Are you in a position to be blessed?

“For what shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31. “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” Romans 8:35.

So Romans asks us what will separate us from God’s love?

  •    tribulation – (trouble)
  •    distress – (suffering)
  •    persecution – (hard times)
  •    famine – (hunger)
  •    nakedness
  •    peril – (danger)
  •    the sword – (death)

“As it is written, for thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter,” Romans 8:36.

“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us,” Romans 8:37.

“…for I am persuaded that neither:

  • death,
  •  “nor life,
  •  “nor angels,
  •  “nor principalities,
  •  “nor powers,
  •  “nor things present,
  •  “nor things to come,
  •  “nor height,
  • “nor depth,
  • “nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord,” Romans 8:38-39.

When you obey the spirit of God, you’re blessed in the city; you’re blessed in the field, you’re blessed when you come and when you go; you cast down every stronghold sickness and poverty. The devil is defeated, and we are blessed.
