“I am the true vine, and my Father is the (gardener) husbandman. Every branch in me that bear not fruit he cuts away: and every branch that bear fruit, he purges (trims) that it may bring forth more fruit. Now you are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide (stay joined) to me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it is in the vine, no more can you, unless you stay joined to me,” John 15:1-4.
Christ is the vine, and God is the husbandman who cares for the branches to make us fruitful. The branches are all who claim to be followers of Christ. This is a union with Christ that will produce much fruit. We are to bear Christ like fruits of love and joy that will fill our hearts to the brim.
But those who are unproductive and superficial, those who turn back from following Christ, will be separated from the vine. Unproductive followers will be cut off and cast aside.
There is a meager difference from cutting off and cutting back. Fruitful branches are cut back to promote growth. We are disciplined to be strengthened in character and faith. What did Jesus mean when He spoke of abiding in Him?
To abide means to dwell or to remain. Abiding gives the idea of living with and being fully encompassed in the thoughts and manners of another. Such a lifestyle surely calls for serious, long-term commitment. It assumes that a person has taken time to evaluate whether this is really what they would like to be involved in. Nobody would casually agree to abide with another for the rest of there life, without giving serious thought to all that may be involved.
Branches that don’t bear fruit are cut off at the trunk so they don’t effect the rest of the tree. Those who try to block the efforts of God’s followers will be cut off from the divine flow of life.
God is moving away all limitations in your life because He created us, forgave us, and chose us for His own. He wants us to live in Him, so that we can live with Him forever. This is the wind of God that blows in your life.
The wind of God is the breath of God, and the wind is blowing in your life. The wind is the presence of the Holy Spirit. This is spiritual growth in your finances, church membership, your relationship, covenant, agreement, His promise, and in His will.
In 2022 as you take on this new process, God will bring all things to completion, to a full state or extended joy in your life.
When God brings something new into your life, it will not be like anything you have ever seen before. It will be like God sees it.=
The Lord is going to blow wind in your direction. Let’s keep going to see what God needs from us for the Kingdom of God. God says: You have done what you were called to do for Me and my people.
“I am the vine, you are the branches He that abides in me, and I in him, the same bring forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing.”
In Christ it is done. When you abide in Him and He in you, then you can do something new in your life.
