Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center (MWCHC) is celebrating National Health Center Week (NHCW). During Health Center Week, MWCHC hosted special events with focus on area homeless populations, patients, local children, and more. The clinic is also recognizing their staff throughout with special activities.
National Health Center Week (August 7–13) is an annual celebration with the goal of raising awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s health centers over the past five decades. As the country’s largest primary care network, Community Health Centers are the health care home for 30 million Americans at over 11,000 facilities across the nation.
This year’s National Health Center Week theme is ‘The Chemistry for Strong Communities,’ and MWCHC is taking the opportunity to keep the focus on multiple types of community members across Middle Tennessee. MWCHC will host special events with a focus on established patients and local children at their three locations, as well as serving area homeless populations with a mobile unit visit to Loaves and Fishes.
MWCHC is also recognizing its staff and stakeholders during National Health Center Week with specialized gift baskets for partners and a staff outing to First Horizon Park for a Nashville Sounds game.
“We are honored to celebrate National Health Center Week with great community partners,” said Katina Beard, MWCHC’s CEO. “It’s also a great opportunity to give back to our incredible staff, who have remained devoted to providing vital health care to the community.”
