Louis York is the musical creation of Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony, who’ve worked with everyone from Celine Dion and Michael Jackson to Ne-Yo, Rihanna, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, and Bruno Mars; their music is not one genre. Or influence. Or thought. It’s an exploration of it all. The Shindellas are a band formed under the belief that when women come together, powerful change can happen. They are advocates aligned under the tenets of sisterhood, excellence, elegance, and empowerment.

For Louis York, when stepping behind the mic for the first time in their careers, the Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer threw out every rule the business has told them to follow. It doesn’t matter how long, how many transitions or how many genres. Kelly and Harmony found themselves searching for one thing, and one thing alone – GREAT ART. Art they’re proud to introduce to the world. Music they believe does their rhythmic predecessors proud. And the two have tapped into their eclectic backgrounds and respective New York and St. Louis upbringings to do just that. Every lyric & vocal you hear is straight from Claude’s heart. Every sound a product of Harmony’s mind. But words simply don’t do the justice a play button can.

For the Shindellas, since hitting the scene back in 2017, Kasi Jones, Stacy Johnson, and Tamara Chauniece have been on a mission to impact music with their unique sound and style. Hand-picked by Chuck Harmony & Claude Kelly, The Shindellas were fueled by the opportunity to make music that would not only matter to them but ring true to the listeners. As a result, the ladies tapped into retro sounds of R&B / Soul influences to bring forth a sound they dubbed as ‘New American Soul’ with hints of The Clark Sisters, EnVogue, The Pointer Sisters, and LaBelle.

The Shindellas, at their core, are pitch-perfect. Their tone is penetratingly beautiful. Their latest project, out now, is “BBQs & Body Rolls.” Effortlessly displayed, they not only evoke emotion through harmony but the beauty of music was evident on their debut album “Hits That Stick Like Grits” via Weirdo Workshop / The Orchard. The 14-track album showcased each voice that blends to sound like one. The album’s lead single “Money” remains a fan favorite. Other releases featured on the album include “Fear Has No Place,” and “When You Are Lonely.”

Friday, December 2, 2022, at 7:00 pm, Louis York joins Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell, Logan Mize, The War and Treaty, and others at the Opry House, 600 Opry Mills Drive, Nashville, TN 37214.
