The Fisk University women’s gymnastics team is continuing to break barriers and make history, this time as they hosted their first-ever hometown competition.
As they faced off against the Greenville University Panthers at Belmont, it marked the first time a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) has hosted an NCAA Gymnastics competition in history.
The team made history last year becoming the first gymnastics team at an HBCU to compete at the NCAA level.
“We were thrilled to host the Greenville University Panthers and give our fans the opportunity to literally experience a gymnastics meet like never before,” said Fisk Athletic Director and Coach, Corrinne Tarver.
“This event was an unforgettable experience for both our gymnasts and fans, as we showcased our passion, talent, and hard work on the mat.”
