Citizens Savings Bank and Trust Company, the nation’s oldest continuously operating African American owned bank in partnership with Operation HOPE, the largest nonprofit dedicated to financial empowerment, conducted a ribbon cutting ceremony on March 23 to celebrate the grand opening of a HOPE Inside location at the bank branch on Jefferson Street.

The celebration included remarks by Mayor John Cooper who also presented a proclamation.

“I’m excited to celebrate a partnership between Citizens Bank and Operation HOPE with the opening of HOPE Inside, a space where all can gain knowledge and tools to create a secure future,” said Cooper. “HOPE Inside is creating a Nashville everyone can afford to live, work, and play in.”

A keynote address was delivered by John Hope Bryant, founder/CEO and chairman of operation for HOPE, Inc.

The event brought together dozens of business leaders, community members and elected officials in support of this initiative.
