The Sporting Life: MTSU Art and Ms. Marvel on ABC Edition

 “Here We Are Now” Exhibit at MTSU

MTSU’s Department of Art and Design hosts the Todd Art Gallery juried exhibition, “Here We Are Now,” a collaborative showcase of contemporary artworks from a broad range of emerging and established local, regional, and national artists. Covering a broad range of mediums, the public will be treated to sculptures, paintings, photography, and works on paper. Also, to be discovered is the story that each piece espouses as it embraces artistic expression, and presents a reflection of the broad cultural diversity found amongst its participants. The exhibition closes on August 19.

Curated by Dr. Barbara and Mr. Leroy Hodges the exhibition includes work from Daniel Arite, Gail Clemons, Mariah Clemons, Kimberly Dummons, Samuel Dunson, Dalia Garcia, Barbara Hodges, Leroy Hodges Jr., Sisavanh Houghton, David Jackson, Dayo Johnson, Henry L. Jones, Oglala Lakota, Hamilton “Matt” Masters, Michael McBride, AnDrew Morrison, Michael Mucker, Jimmy Mumford, Robert Orr Jr., Xavier Payne, Destiney Powell, Jairo Prado, Tony Rodriguez, Ashley Seay, Jamaal B. Sheats, Thandiwe Shiphrah, Roger R. Smith, James Threalkill, Ruben Torres, Tricia Townes, Jose Fernando Vargas, Mary R. Watkins, Carlton Wilkinson, Donna Woodley, and Kevin Wurm.

“Ms. Marvel” is beaming to broadcast television! The full Emmy®-nominated series is set to air across two Saturday nights on August 5 and 12. ABC will offer viewers the opportunity to watch all of the hit Disney+ Original series this summer, ahead of Ms. Marvel’s theatrical debut in “The Marvels” on November 10, with the first three episodes airing on ABC on SATURDAY, AUG. 5, and the final three episodes on Saturday, August. 12, from 7:00-10:00 p.m. CDT, locally on WKRN Channel 2.1. Also watch on the ABC app from your smartphone and tablet (iOS and Android), computer on ABC.com and connected devices (Roku, AppleTV and Amazon Fire TV).

Saturday, Aug. 5 “Generation Why”: Kamala Khan attends Avengercon only to discover that she herself might have superpowers. “Crushed”: Kamala and Bruno explore the source of her newfound powers just in time for a perilous adventure. And “Destined”: Ahead of Aamir’s wedding, Kamala may face grave consequences due to a crucial decision she makes.

Saturday, Aug. 12 “Seeing Red”: Kamala travels around the world to solve the mystery of the bangle and her family’s history. “Time and Again”: The bangle reveals to Kamala secrets about her family lineage, as well as the truth behind the Veil. And the series/season? finale, “No Normal”: Back in Jersey, Kamala finds Kamran and protects him from Damage Control, who will stop at nothing to take him in.
