When Rev. Enoch Fuzz, pastor of Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, began his journey with stage four lung cancer in 2020, so did the pandemic COVID-19. Over the past three years of the pandemic, deaths have not been eliminated. But they have slowed down tremendously. Vaccination studies were completed with vaccines administered, along with other methods of care for handling variations of the COVID virus.
Throughout these past few years Rev. Fuzz has encountered a variety of ailments that accompanied his journey with cancer. He has been hospitalized, bed-ridden, had medications changed, had visits to the emergency room, relocated to secluded locations for quiet rest—along with a plethora of other health-related concerns and cares during this journey. Through it all, he was not subject to COVID.
As COVID-19 has become as common as catching a cold or the flu, many people have contracted a variant of the virus. But recently symptoms have mostly been more subdued with a positive testing. However, no matter how careful and covered we were with masks over the past few years, it seemed ‘when’ and not ‘if’ many found themselves with positive COVID results. Sadly, Rev. Fuzz tested positive early this week for COVID—but with no symptoms. He is feeling fine, yet confined to bed rest. Although there may not be symptoms with some variations of COVID, those with positive tests always seem to be a little more fatigued than usual. Liquids and bed rest are still helpful. We breathe a little easier now that there are more quick recoveries. However, precautions are still advised.
As Rev. Fuzz continues his journey, it is now September, the month of his birthday celebration! Rev. Fuzz will experience his 68th birthday, September 30. His birthday celebration will be held on Sunday, October 1, at 1 pm in the parking lot of Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church. It’s set to be “the best birthday party in the whole wide world!”
Keep praying and supporting Rev. Fuzz—and never forget to include prayers for your network of people. Readers are encouraged to offer special prayers for a quick healing of Rev. Fuzz’s positive COVID-19 test. Prayers are also requested for others encountering COVID, because it is still a frightening malady and serious health concern.
