Locally, the Belcourt Theatre will screen the film at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, just before and independent of the International Black Film Festival and Nashville Film Festival, which both begin later that week. Shelter in Solitude is the story of death row prisoner Jackson Marcus (played by Peter Macon, The Orville), with 10 days left to live and his relationship with washed-up country singer Val (played by Siobhan Fallon Hogan, best known for SNL, Men in Black, Seinfeld, and Forrest Gump). Shelter in Solitude is an American, faith-filled, country western, prison love story told during COVID times.

Shelter in Solitude is a full family effort with Fallon Hogan as producer along with her husband Peter, with her son Peter, 25, as the music supervisor, and daughter Sinead, 21 both acting in the film and doing production design. The film also stars Robert Patrick (Terminator 2, The X-Files) and Dan Castellaneta (“Homer Simpson”), with Amelia Fowler and Sheika Murray in supporting roles.

Peter Macon is an accomplished actor and voice-over artist perhaps best known for his portrayal of the character Bortus in The Orville, a comedy-drama science fiction television series. Peter has played Othello in London to great critical acclaim and will be seen in the upcoming film Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
