Don't lose it

Bishop-Elect Dr. Monterey D. Lee, Sr.

“This sorrow God wants you to have has made you very serious, and it made you care. It has made you to want the right thing done in and for your life,” 2 Corinthians 7:11.

What shall we do to receive the fullness of God and new life? Repent. It’s is not enough to be sorry for your sins. We must let God forgive the sin(s) by asking Him to forgive us and to remove the sin(s) from our lives. When we repent, we must repent with a Godly sorrow and the atonement of Jesus Christ. This is the justice, the ransom, and the way we are redeemed. Jesus paid the price for our sins. He took them upon Himself with His life, death, and His resurrection. Paul said that when one truly repents with a Godly sorrow, you exhibit a made-up mind and a caring heart. When you change your mind and heart, you have made up your mind about the way you feel about life. This is a change of your very nature—a transformation, as we receive Christ and become new creations. We are born again and we receive the Holy Spirit for new life. The more we reflect God’s love and compassion, the more love changes our hearts.

Atonement is the reconciliation, the redemption, and the restoring of mankind back to God through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ. This is exemplifying [making a full example of] mankind with God, like Jesus did with God. This is to live a life in the forgiveness of God for His sons and daughters. If we are going to live for God, we must repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ; live a changed life; and go in a different direction in our lives as we depend on the Holy Spirit for guidance, mercy, and power.

Why do we need baptism? Can’t one just repent and start living for God? Baptism shows identification with Christ. Your ‘old man’ is buried with Christ and your ‘new man’ is resurrected with Him, to live to do the work of God by the saving of souls. This is the life of discipleship, a sign of faith and the receiving of the gift of the Holy Spirit.

This promise is unto you and your children and your children’s children—even as many as the Lord our God shall call. This is why we must not lose out. Don’t lose out, because their are too many lives connected to you.

Don’t lose out, but save yourself from this corrupt generation. Don’t lose your power; don’t lose your anointing; don’t lose your purpose; don’t lose your destiny; don’t lose your favor; and don’t lose your calling.

They gladly received and were baptized and the same day there were added unto them about 3,000 souls. And they continued steadfast in the apostles doctrine, they spent their time learning from the apostles and they were one family—braking of bread and praying together.
