Host Josh Black kept the crowd lit, lively and laughing at last year’s Black on Buchanan.

The Equity Alliance (TEA) in partnership with The Nashville Black Market and Nashville Jazz Workshop invite you to the 5th Annual Black on Buchanan Juneteenth Block Party on Saturday June 15, 2024 (615 Day), from 12:00 NOON – 6:00 PM CDT. TEA’s Black on Buchanan is a vibrant display of Blackness and freedom in North Nashville, held on 11th – 14th and Buchanan. Black on Buchanan is a celebration of Black joy, excellence, freedom, and the fight for Black liberation. The block party is hosted in an area that is home and refuge to generations of Black Nashvillians. By hosting the event there, they are honoring the past and celebrating the bright future ahead of us.

They will fill the day with Black joy, Black entrepreneurship empowerment, and culture. In partnership with The Nashville Black Market, the Black on Buchanan Vendor Village will feature over 125 small business vendors, community partners, and artists who all come out to celebrate freedom. This celebration was created for us, by us (FUBU), to uplift and promote Black empowerment and entrepreneurship while showing love to Buchanan Street, a historic Black community in North Nashville.

This year, on 615 Day, help in taking over historic Buchanan Street with fun for the whole family featuring live music and performances, food, a kid’s zone, a business, art, and community partner vendor village powered by The Nashville Black Market with Black-owned businesses, vendors, and community resources. Also, they will have a photo booth for Black Fathers and families, and live performances by Sankofa, Mia Reona, Sweet Poison, Tim Gent, and Special guest Fabo. And that’s not all, they have some special guest DJs lined up to keep the energy on a thousand all day as they celebrate 615 Day and Black liberation. See you out there on June 15!
