Montego Glover is The Witch in Into the Woods at TPAC May 23-28.

Direct from Broadway, the critically acclaimed and much-beloved production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Tony®-winning triumph is coming to Nashville with its Broadway stars to boot, May 23-28, 2023 in TPAC’s Andrew Jackson Hall. Into the Woods features Montego Glover as The Witch, Stephanie J. Block as The Baker’s Wife, Sebastian Arcelus as The Baker, and Gavin Creel as Cinderella’s Prince / Wolf – all reprising their Broadway roles. Directed by Lear deBessonet (Hercules), this theatrical event honors Sondheim’s legendary memory and his Broadway masterpiece like never before.

Montego Glover was born in Macon, Georgia, and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She proudly proclaims on her website: “ITW is GOING ON THE ROAD! And I’m the WITCH! Over the moon to join my Broadway company on a very sexy select city tour across America beginning February 2023 thru July 2023… It’s good to be the Witch. See you in ‘The Wood’ in a city near you very soon!”

A graduate of Florida State University with a BFA in Music Theatre, Montego made her Broadway debut in the original Broadway production of The Color Purple in the roles of Celie & Nettie. She created the role of Felicia Farrell in the Broadway hit musical Memphis and received a Tony Award Nomination for Lead Actress in a Musical as well as a Drama League Nomination and won both the Outer Critics’ Circle Award and the Drama Desk Award for her performance. Currently, Montego can be heard on Entergalactic, a new highly anticipated animated film streaming now on Netflix.

Based in New York, Montego has traveled to a number of exciting theatre companies around the country, and she has an impressive list of credits in Concert work. Montego also spends time in television, film, and commercials, such as Netflix’s Inventing Anna and NBC’s Blacklist. She has appeared on Bull, Evil, Black Box, The Following, Hostages, Smash, Golden Boy, The Good Wife, White Collar, NYC 22, Law & Order, and Made In Jersey, as well as several award-winning programs for PBS.

Montego’s numerous commercial campaigns include Stella Artois, Campbell’s Soup, Chase, Samsung, Verizon, Charmin, Subway, Nickelodeon, McDonald’s, and Fruit of the Loom. She has also lent her voice to video gaming, animation, scripted audio and narration. Montego has served on the Artists’ Committee for the Kennedy Center Honors and Lincoln Center Theatre. She is a New York Pops PopsEd Ambassador and a member of the Broadway Green Alliance.

Most recently, Montego was installed as an Exhibition at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center & African American Museum in her hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
